The third edition of the Festival will take place in Tarragona from April 1 to 4, for U12 and U14 age groups

After a complicated season because of coronavirus, HaBaWaBa Spain has announced the next edition of the water polo Festival will be held next Easter, from April 1st to 4th, 2021, in Tarragona.

After the first edition in Barcelona during the 2018 European Championships and last year in Reus, the event will take place at the Sylvia Fontana Olympic swimming pool in Tarragona, venue during the Mediterranean Games back in 2018.

Cristina Marin, General Manager of the organization, stated:

"In 2018 was Barcelona, 2019 Reus and this third edition will be in Tarragona for Easter, where we are planning to stay for at least five years. With one more year of HaBaWaBa we want to reaffirm our committment to spread water polo among the youngest."

All teams will be able to enjoy three exciting days of competition and one last day full of adrenaline and fun at one of Europe's best theme parks, PortAventura Park.

The event is open to participants from Spain and all over the globe from the U12 (2009-10) and U14 (2007-08) coed age groups. Registration is open for teams from all over the world.

Happy Baby Water Ball

The HaBaWaBa (Happy Baby Water Ball) festival was created by the non-profit Waterpolo Development with a unique mission: to spread the love for water polo across the 5 continents and, together with it, the noble values of sport and coexistence.

Since the first Festival took place in Italy in 2008, the event has grown immensely the becoming the world's largest water polo Festival for kids, with editions now in North America, Greece, Spain, Asia, Belarus, and Brazil.

After 12 years in a row of International Festival in Italy, the 2020 event was finally canceled in light of the pandemic.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the event, Marin tackles this new edition of the HaBaWaBa Spain more excited than ever

"After a season marked by coronavirus, we are hopeful that by Easter 2021 we will be able to welcome teams from Spain and all over to the Festival. Tarragona, PortAventura Park and the Sylvia Fontana Olympic pool make a perfect combination."
